so i currently attend eckerd college. it's a really awesome place, and i love it to death. i originally came to eckerd for their marine science program, which is known across the country. i was a huge science buff in high school, and i had definite plans to continue forward with my "dreams." however, when my dreams became haunted with calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology, i realized that if i cringed at the thought of these classes, maybe i wasn't cut out for the sciences.
so this fall, i took the initiative, and decided to change my major. there was just one small problem - my mom is a scientist who works for pfizer, and i had always seen myself as a scientist, doing research right next to her. i had gone to eckerd for a reason, and it's a very expensive school. i would have had to transfer if i wanted to do something else. however, my parents saw my passion for the arts, and decided to let me stay here. i can honestly say that i am so happy. i'm now an interdisciplinary arts major, with a focus in photography, graphic design/art, and theater. i'm minoring in computer science, hoping to gain experience in computer animation and 3d modeling.
this summer, i'm looking into a slew of internships. i'm planning to apply (or have already applied) for internships with mattel, marvel, two theater companies back home, disney imagineers, mtv, viacom, and my favorite, pixar. it would be SO amazing to work with pixar, so we shall see what this summer has in store.
right now, i'm still enrolled in a couple of science classes. and yes, i do have a chemistry exam in a day or two. let me just say that i cannot wait until that exam is over. that will officially mark the end of my science major, and the beginning of a new chapter. i'm so excited for what God has in store for me this spring and summer. i've already received interest in shooting two weddings this coming spring!
next semester is gonna rock my face off.
